GOD, IN AN UNGODLY WORLD!

Is our world going to become more godly? Can a Christian live holy in our world of today?

It is without a doubt that the advancements in science and technology in our world today have made life easier in many ways, as we have seen inventions that a century ago probably seemed impossible... However, this advancement in civilization came along with the downside as the rate of morality keeps degrading by the day; from individuals living their lives as they please; to societies and governments instituting laws that do not take Biblical views into consideration...

It is very likely that the true believer is concerned by these trends, and in fact, the Christianity of a believer who is not bothered by these is probably questionable... How do you feel hearing about advocacies for sex before marriage, the widespread baby mama/baby daddy syndrome, gay marriage rights, abortion rights, transgenderism, atheism, and the likes...???

These and more are the consequences of the absence of the consciousness of God in the hearts of men... The Bible makes it clear what the natural tendency of a person or society that disregards God would be:

"...When they refused to acknowledge God, He abandoned them to their evil minds and let them do things that should never be done. Their lives became full of every kind of wickedness, sin, greed, hate, envy, murder, fighting, deception, malicious behavior, and gossip. They are backstabbers, haters of God, insolent, proud, and boastful. They are forever inventing new ways of sinning and are disobedient to their parents..." Romans 1:28-30 (NLT)...

One of the most amazing things about the Bible (being the prophetic book that it is) is that though it was written thousands of years ago, it says something about the events and happenings around our world today, including the moral decadence that would be the order of the day, especially towards the end of this Age...

Jesus Himself while speaking about the signs of the End said:

"...Sin will be rampant everywhere, and the love of many will grow cold... And the Good News about the Kingdom will be preached throughout the whole world, so that all nations will hear it; and then, finally, the end will come..." Matthew 24:12,14 (NLT)

Therefore it is no surprise what has become of morality in our world today, and the 'bad news' in fact is that the decay would persist and even increase further as the gulf between God's laws and humanity's inventions grows bigger... The good news however, is that the true Christians on Earth would keep shining and spreading the light of God to this fallen world for as long as God permits, until that Great Day when God would take His people out of this Earth, just before the situation turns catastrophic...

The true believers on Earth with their prayers are the reason God would not unleash His wrath... Humanity as a whole would've been doomed by God's judgment because no one is able to meet up with God's standard of holiness, but God in His mercy, love, and grace made a way of escape through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ; and Jesus through His Holy Spirit in man remains the only way to be able to live a holy life in a world filled with unholiness in every corner you turn...

Be that as it may, the believer need not fear nor worry over the alarming ungodliness in the world, as God is able to keep His own from falling, so long as the believer makes a conscious choice to obey God's commands and does not allow the distractions, deception, and confusion in the world drown the inner voice of God's Holy Spirit in the believer's heart...

"For the [remarkable, undeserved] grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men. It teaches us to reject ungodliness and worldly (immoral) desires, and to live sensible, upright, and godly lives [with a purpose that reflect spiritual maturity] in this present age, awaiting and confidently expecting the [fulfillment of our] blessed hope and the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus..." Titus 2:11‭-‬13 (AMP)

"...And now, all glory to God, Who is able to keep you from stumbling, and Who will bring you into His glorious presence innocent of sin and with great joy. All glory to Him, Who alone is God our Savior, through Jesus Christ our LORD. Yes, glory, majesty, power, and authority belong to Him, in the beginning, now, and forevermore. Amen." Jude 1:24-25 (NLT)
