Are you a
true Soldier of Christ? What kind of Soldier are you?? How far can you go in
the battle???
Yes! In Christianity, we are very allowed to enjoy and make merry; in-fact we are even commanded
in the Scriptures to rejoice always (Phil.4:4)... But, we must however not lose sight of the
reality of the warfare we equally have to deal with as people now enlisted in God's End-Time Army; so that we do not lose out on the eternal while being distracted with the peripheral...
Christianity is not primarily a fun affair; Christ did not die just to give us entertainment; And Christians are not called the Soldiers of Christ for no reason... His sufferings on His cross and His shed blood sure had a greater goal, and His call to the Believers surely has a deeper purpose...
Regarding the subject matter, I have outlined below 7 Categories of Soldiers in Christendom today, and as you read I hope you find where you truly
belong...
1. The Soldiers who do not even know that they are soldiers or that there is any
battle: If you belong to this category, I pray that the LORD may open your eyes of
understanding to comprehend that we are indeed in a daily spiritual warfare as believers and followers of Jesus Christ.
2. The Soldiers who know they are soldiers, BUT do not know their weapons: If
you are in this category, I encourage you to seek out the requisite knowledge and equip yourself with the necessary weapons of spiritual warfare so that the battle does not catch you unaware.
3. The Soldiers who know they are soldiers and know their weapons, BUT do not
know how to use them: If you are here, I encourage you to search out the wisdom
needful for mastering your weapons of warfare, from Scriptures and from those
who have a track record of victorious warfares.
4. The Soldiers who know they are soldiers, know their weapons and how to use
them, BUT are comfortably sleeping on the battleground: If you are here, please
ask the LORD to baptise you with His Spirit of might and empower you to stand
strong so as not to end up a casualty at the war front.
5. The Soldiers who know they are soldiers, know their weapons and how to use
them, are actively engaging in the battles, BUT keep repeating cycles of defeat
and failures: If you are here, I encourage you to retreat and seek the LORD's
face to acquire the wisdom and grace that makes men more than conquerors.
6. The Soldiers who know they are soldiers, know their weapons and how to use
them, are actively engaging in the battles and are achieving some victories, BUT
are not ready to die for the cause if any battle becomes too hot or
uncomfortable: If you are here, I encourage you to please set aside all your
victory medals and retreat into your secret place, and ask God to place upon
you the kind of conviction and persuasion He placed upon the martyred Soldiers of old who went in all the
way even to the point of death.
7. The Soldiers who know they are soldiers, know their weapons and how to use
them, are actively engaging in the battles, and are achieving victories, BUT YET are
willing and ready to endure any pain or suffering and even prepared to
sacrifice anything including their lives for the cause if any battle so
demands: And if you are in this category, I say congratulations! Because you are
among the few Soldiers who are truly and fully equipped, and who the Commander is proud of and
can trust and entrust with much.
The below words of admonishment from Paul the Apostle give us some light on the matter:
📖"We
are human, but we don’t wage war as humans do. We use God’s mighty weapons, not
worldly weapons, to knock down the strongholds of human reasoning and to
destroy false arguments." 2 Corinthians 10:3-4 (NLT)
📖"...Be
strong in the LORD and in His mighty power. Put on all of God’s armour so that
you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the Devil. For we are
not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and
authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and
against evil spirits in the heavenly places. Therefore, put on every piece of
God’s armour so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then
after the battle you will still be standing firm. Stand your ground, putting on
the belt of truth and the body armour of God’s righteousness. For shoes, put on
the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared. In
addition to all of these, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows
of the Devil. Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the
Spirit, which is the Word of God." Ephesians 6:10-17 (NLT)
📖"Endure
suffering along with me, as a good soldier of Christ Jesus. Soldiers don’t get
tied up in the affairs of civilian life, for then they cannot please the
officer who enlisted them." 2 Timothy 2:3-4 (NLT)
📖"For
we don’t live for ourselves or die for ourselves. If we live, it’s to honour the
LORD. And if we die, it’s to honour the LORD. So whether we live or die, we
belong to the LORD." Romans 14:7-8 (NLT)
And I close with the Food for Thought:
